Laqere Market
One of the most important is because of it’s of its potential to empower our people economically. Most of these farmers come to sell the crops they grow from all over the surrounding region, from the highlands of Naitasiri & Down the Valleys of Wainibuka.
Most of those farmers come to sell on Sundays at the Laqere Market.

Selling a wide range of fish, certain types of fish are not allowed to be sold in the market, for example, the ban of kawakawa from June to September. The Fiji Government has banned the harvest, sale, buying, possession or export of all species of Grouper (kawakawa) and Coral Trout (donu) during their peak spawning months, from the 1st of June through to the 30th of September, to help revive these rapidly declining fish species.
